Tomo Tomo: A Taste of Japan in Subang Jaya

Tucked within Subang Jaya’s PARC, Tomo Tomo is a café that captures the serene ambiance of Japan’s old Kyoto townhouses, blending traditional Japanese machiya-inspired architecture with a modern, tranquil atmosphere. Earthy wooden slats, cozy seating, and a minimalist tatami-style space create a sense of elegant calm. A soft noren curtain at the entrance hints at the cultural journey inside, where guests are welcomed into an intimate setting designed to transport them to Japan’s quiet, refined charm.

Tomo Tomo’s house-made sourdough shio pan filled with red bean paste and a slice of cold butter has a mild sweetness, balanced flavour, and satisfying richness. The texture, however, feels a bit dry when served cold.

Tomo Tomo’s house-made matcha croffle, topped with whipped cream and served with a side of sugar matcha syrup, has a crisp, sugar-coated exterior but feels dry inside. The matcha flavour is unexpectedly mild, and the syrup lacks the depth of matcha taste.
