Raves in KL are getting louder lately. Evolution Events Asia has been bringing several techno nights to Kuala Lumpur, slowly shaping the city’s underground rave scene. Over the past year, the organiser has brought several techno events to Kuala Lumpur that are slowly shaping the city’s underground rave scene.
Two recent nights that really showed this were Fantasm All Day Long and Face 2 Face. Both events were organised by Evolution Events Asia and have already happened, but they left a strong impression on the local crowd.
And if anything, they showed that the appetite for proper raves in KL is getting stronger.
Fantasm: The Set KL Still Talks About

If you were at Verknipt Malaysia in May 2025, you know exactly why Fantasm has a reputation here. He first made an impact in KL during Verknipt Malaysia 2025, an event also organised by Evolution Events Asia, where his set leaned heavily into industrial techno.
Dark, mechanical and relentless.
So when Evolution Events Asia brought Fantasm back for an All Day Long set, expectations were naturally high. Unlike a typical club slot, an All Day Long set gives the DJ space to build a much longer musical journey. The energy slowly grows, shifting between hypnotic rhythms, heavier industrial moments and faster techno sections as the night unfolds.
For many people who were there, it was one of those sets that reminded everyone how immersive techno can feel when the crowd is fully locked in.

Face 2 Face: Different Style of Raves in KL

Not long after Fantasm’s show, Evolution Events Asia introduced another concept to KL’s rave scene: Face 2 Face. Instead of DJs facing the crowd, the artists perform facing each other, creating a back-and-forth musical exchange throughout the set. It might sound like a small detail, but it completely changes the dynamic of the night.
Rather than one DJ controlling the room, the energy builds through two artists reacting to each other in real time. The lineup included Cloudy, Adrian Mills, SLVL and Ush, bringing together different sides of techno.
Cloudy and Adrian Mills delivered groovy, bouncy techno, while SLVL and Ush brought darker industrial textures. Compared to the intensity of Fantasm’s set, Face 2 Face felt more playful and rhythm-driven.

These are dancer-first, vibe-first nights.
